Ting is a highly experienced and qualified music teacher. He studied a bachelor of music at university and has taught guitar at a variety of primary schools, high schools and private schools. Not every private music teacher has a formal qualification in music and have taught at school before.

A fully accredited Music Teacher must:
1) Have taught music for at least 3 years
2) Have completed practical music in at least Grade 8 (AMEB or equivalent)

For adults, it is never too old or too late to start learning the guitar. For children, grade 2 at around 7 to 8 years old is a good age to start guitar. However every child is unique, some might be able to start at younger age. Alternatively, children younger than 6 can try the ukulele before learning the guitar. Ting also teaches the ukulele.
